Project Brief
The brief was to build a large weatherboard house extension in Croydon onto the back of the old house for the new kitchen, master bedroom, bathroom, existing dining room turned into a bedroom, decking and living area. The extension was to be a hardy weatherboard, so cement weatherboards were the option used.
This house was to accommodate 4 kids and 2 parents. Our construction team needed to turn it from a 3 bedroom and 1 bathroom property, into 5 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and multiple living areas.
The Work We Did
The building plan involved adding not only a large extension to the back of the house but redesigning how the existing house was used. This included turning the dining room into a bedroom. And modernising the fixtures and fittings so the extension blended well with the current weatherboard house.
RQM Construction built a spacious new living room that linked up with a new modern kitchen with an island bench. A well finished bathroom, master bedroom with ensuite, and kids bedrooms were all built as part of the project.
The new outside decking and retaining wall provided an outdoor barbecue area. And we managed to incorporate attic storage for this large family.
